*🇳🇵-Footage Shows This Week’s Catastrophic Floods In Nepal* A glacier collapse on Wednesday sent a wall of water, ice, mud and rock racing through Himalayan valleys along the Nepal-Tibet border. The confirmed death toll in Nepal has reached 469. Nearly 1,000 more people remain missing, including hundreds of foreign tourists and trekkers. Videos circulating this week show the flood arriving with almost no warning. Torrents swallowed roads, bridges, hydropower plants and entire stretches of villages in Rasuwa and Nuwakot. One clip from a border crossing captures people running as buildings disappear in seconds. Another shows a river that looked small from a distance suddenly overflowing and ripping through homes. Rescue teams are still digging through thick mud with heavy machinery and helicopters. Many roads and bridges are gone, making it hard to reach cut-off communities. Authorities on both sides of the border are now watching two debris-blocked lakes that could burst and send another surge downstream. The images are hard to look at. Families are still waiting for news. If you have contacts in the affected districts, check in.
