*🇺🇸-Florida AG Uthmeier Explains Why State Rejected Meta Settlement On CNBC* Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier went on CNBC with Brian Sullivan to explain why the state refused to join the multi-billion-dollar Meta settlement. Most other states signed on to a deal that could reach around $17 billion, plus new limits on teen use of Facebook and Instagram. Uthmeier called the payouts “peanuts” compared to the harm Meta’s addictive features caused kids. He said it’s a slap on the wrist for a trillion-dollar company that will pay more to lawyers than to the states. “We’re not settling with Meta, we’re going to court,” he told CNBC. Florida is pressing ahead with its own case.
