🇮🇱🇺🇸-Noa Tishby posted a video response today addressing Mark Ruffalo’s recent attacks on David Ellison and Larry Ellison over the Paramount-Warner Bros. merger. Ruffalo linked the deal to Oracle’s work with Israel, used terms like “genocide” and “apartheid,” and framed the Ellisons as dangerous oligarchs consolidating power through media and military tech. Paramount called the remarks antisemitic tropes. Ruffalo denied being antisemitic, pointing to his Jewish friends and saying criticism of Israeli policy or executives is not hatred of Jews. Tishby’s point is direct. No one called him an antisemite. The issue is the tropes themselves: the idea that Jews hold mythological power, control media, manipulate governments, start wars, and wield endless money. She notes one form of Jew-hatred dehumanizes Jews as beneath society. The other demonizes them as secretly running it. Both are antisemitism. If the criticism is about the merger, criticize the merger. Reaching for 2,000-year-old conspiracy theories is the problem.
