*🇺🇸-Florida Rejects Meta’s $17 Billion Kids Settlement* Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier says the state is not joining the massive Meta deal over Facebook and Instagram’s impact on children. Meta agreed to pay up to about $17 billion and make platform changes for minors, including stronger age checks, daily time limits, overnight restrictions, and a ban on features like plastic surgery filters. The company denies wrongdoing. The deal still needs court approval. Uthmeier called the payouts peanuts compared to the harm he says Meta’s addictive features caused kids, and a slap on the wrist for a trillion-dollar company. His message: Florida will see them at trial. Texas and New Mexico are also staying out and pursuing their own cases.
