🇺🇸-✈️United Airlines Blocking Middle Seats On New Jets For Extra Room United Airlines will permanently block two middle seats in the Economy Plus section of its new Airbus A321XLR planes. Instead of a seat, passengers get a fixed table with a soft leather-like covering and cup holders between the window and aisle seats. The setup gives extra elbow room on top of the usual three inches of extra legroom in Economy Plus. These planes start flying domestically this fall, with international routes coming in early 2027. Pricing for the special seats has not been announced yet. United says it is exploring the idea for other aircraft in the future.
