*🇪🇸Spanish Restaurant In Vigo Kicks Out Israeli Tourists* A restaurant owner in Vigo, Spain told a group of Israeli tourists to leave after learning they were from Israel. The incident happened at Mimassa, an Italian restaurant on Calle Areal. About eight Israeli visitors were sitting on the terrace when owner Samir Slim asked where they were from. After they said Israel, he took the menus, told them to get out, and said they should “go eat in Gaza.” In the video he filmed himself, he accuses the group of killing people and then coming on vacation. He also calls them Zionists and shouts “Viva Palestina libre” as they walk away. Some of the tourists answered with “Viva Israel.” Other customers did not step in. Spain’s National Police opened a hate-crime inquiry after a viewer in Madrid filed a complaint. Israel’s embassy in Spain called it “completely unacceptable” that people were expelled from a restaurant simply for being Israeli. Slim, who is Lebanese-born and owns several spots in Vigo, later said he filmed the encounter “for security” and claimed the group had been aggressive. A Vigo judge later provisionally closed the hate-crime case, saying there were not enough signs of antisemitic hostility under the law. The video is circulating again this week.
