🇮🇷-Hamas Delegation Meets Iran’s Top Officials In Tehran A Hamas delegation led by Bassem Naim met senior Iranian officials in Tehran on Wednesday, including Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf. Naim, a member of Hamas’s political bureau, conveyed greetings from the group’s new political chief, Khalil al-Hayya. He also offered condolences over the death of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Iranian state media said Araghchi restated Tehran’s “firm” support for what it called the Palestinian cause and for a Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital. Ghalibaf said Iran and the so-called Resistance Front remain on a “common path.” Naim called on Islamic countries to take “serious and immediate action” against Israel. The meetings come as Hamas continues seeking political and financial backing from Tehran after the war in Gaza. VINnews’s Take: Iran is still rolling out the red carpet for Hamas in public, even while talking to Washington. That is the story.
