*🇺🇸-Pappas Pressed On Aipac Ties In Cnn Interview* CNN’s Manu Raju asked New Hampshire Congressman Chris Pappas about his ties to AIPAC during an interview that also covered the tight Senate race. Pappas is the leading Democrat in the Sept. 8 primary as he seeks Jeanne Shaheen’s seat. Progressive challenger Karishma Manzur has made his pro-Israel donations a central attack. FEC analyses cited in New Hampshire reporting put Pappas’s career support from AIPAC and affiliated pro-Israel groups in the hundreds of thousands of dollars. He appeared in an AIPAC Congressional Summit video earlier this year calling the U.S.-Israel relationship a “cornerstone” of national security. More recently he has said the relationship is at a “turning point” and needs a reset. Last month he voted present on a House proposal to cut aid to Israel. CNN titled the clip as Pappas dodging a direct question on whether he welcomes AIPAC funding. The clip is circulating as Democrats nationally argue over Israel policy and outside money in primaries. The New Hampshire primary is nine days away.
