*🇺🇸-Michigan AG Tells Jewish Democrats To Place World Needs Above Their Own Survival* Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel told Jewish Democrats they have a “moral imperative” to put the needs of the world above their own self-interest, safety, and even survival. The remarks came Sunday at the Michigan Democratic Party Jewish Caucus’ “Summer Simcha” in Birmingham, where Nessel was being honored. According to a recording reviewed by The Detroit News, Nessel invoked Queen Esther and said it may now be up to Jewish Democrats “to follow in her path and sacrifice the comfort, safety and security and even the very future of our own people in exchange for the opportunity to save the rest of humanity.” She also asked, “What good is defending the historic homeland of our ancestors and demanding that candidates acknowledge its right to exist if the planet upon which it rests is no longer inhabitable?” The speech landed in the middle of Michigan’s U.S. Senate race. Democrat Abdul El-Sayed, a sharp critic of Israel, is facing Republican Mike Rogers. Nessel has not endorsed El-Sayed and previously criticized his response to a synagogue attack outside Detroit. She has also said she will not vote for Rogers. Former New York Assemblyman Dov Hikind called the comments shameful, saying Nessel was telling fellow Jewish Democrats to back El-Sayed and not worry about their own safety. *VINnews's Take:* Jewish voters are being asked to treat their own security as optional.
