A South Florida U.S. Postal Service worker has been arrested after authorities accused her of stealing a $2,600 winning lottery ticket from the mail and cashing it herself. Lakaysha Lockhart, 28, faces charges including grand theft, mail theft and dealing in stolen property following a joint investigation by the Florida Lottery and the U.S. Postal Service Office of Inspector General. Investigators said a Tampa woman mailed the winning Pick 4 ticket to a relative in Fort Lauderdale to help cover funeral expenses, but it never arrived. Authorities later determined the ticket had been redeemed by Lockhart at a Florida Lottery office in Miami. Officials said Lockhart allegedly admitted stealing and cashing the ticket. She was released on bond and had not entered a plea as of Tuesday. --- 📲 For fast & reliable hyper-local Jewish Florida news: 🗞️ JOIN The Florida Scoop on WhatsApp: https://api.whatsapp.com/send?phone=17868092003&text=Subscribe
