*🇺🇸-NEW:* The DOJ announces charges against 12 additional defendants in alleged fraud schemes targeting taxpayer-funded programs across the Southeast, involving more than $90 million in intended losses. Among the cases is an alleged $20 million food stamp fraud scheme tied to a Miami convenience store. Prosecutors say the defendants convinced SNAP recipients to exchange their benefits for cash at a discount. Federal officials say three of the four defendants have been arrested, including one taken into custody after arriving in the United States from Jordan.
