Israel’s Central Elections Committee is preparing for the possibility of Iranian missile fire on the morning of October 27, when polls are scheduled to open for the 26th Knesset. One extreme scenario under review involves an attack intended to frighten voters and disrupt the democratic process.
The report comes amid growing assessments that Iran may try to interfere with Israel’s elections. Committee chairman Justice Noam Solberg has held discussions on the matter, while Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu has warned twice in recent weeks that Israel’s enemies may try to attack ahead of or during the election period.
