Australia’s Defense Ministry has confirmed that a shipment of F-35 fighter jet components being sent to the United States for repairs was mistakenly routed to Hong Kong.
Defense Minister Richard Marles said the shipment is not believed to have contained sensitive components. Australia is working with the U.S. and Lockheed Martin to determine how the error occurred, while Marles noted that management of the F-35 program’s global supply chain ultimately rests with Washington and Lockheed Martin.
