Voter turnout in Israel continues to break records, reaching 66.7% as of 6 p.m., 9 percentage points higher than at the same time in 2022. In total numbers, more Israelis have already voted than during the entire 2022 election.
Amid the record turnout, Likud has requested an extension of voting hours. The Central Elections Committee's leadership is scheduled to convene in approximately half an hour to discuss the request. Election law generally permits extensions only under special circumstances affecting the orderly conduct of voting. Polls are scheduled to close at 10 p.m.
