Israel’s Shin Bet says its investigation into suspected foreign election interference remains ongoing, clarifying that the intelligence was gathered independently, not from political parties, and that only Election Committee Chairman Justice Sohlberg was informed before the vote ended. Shin Bet chief David Zini has since briefed Netanyahu, Eisenkot, and Lapid. Lapid says the election results are not at risk and the new Knesset can be sworn in, while security officials told Army Radio the allegations are not expected to warrant new elections. The Shin Bet stressed that the investigation targets specific individuals, not an entire community, and that its findings will be presented to the Election Committee.
