Iran's economy is facing a severe crisis as war, sanctions and restrictions on maritime trade drive prices sharply higher. New figures indicate that food and beverage prices have surged approximately 121.8% compared with last year, while annual inflation has reached 73.6%.
Iran's economy minister acknowledged the worsening situation and apologized for the impact on ordinary citizens. The average monthly wage is reportedly around $92, compared with estimated minimum living expenses of approximately $336 for a working-class family of three.
