Syrian officials and Hezbollah representatives secretly met in Türkiye last month, their first known face-to-face talks since the fall of Bashar al-Assad. The meeting was arranged with the involvement of Turkish intelligence and security officials, Reuters reports. Damascus demanded that Hezbollah halt weapons smuggling across the border and dismantle its remaining cells inside Syria, while assuring the group that Syrian forces would not enter Lebanon to disarm it. Hezbollah agreed not to interfere in Syrian affairs, but no final agreement was reached.
