India has dramatically increased its purchases of Middle Eastern oil, reaching approximately 2.8 million barrels per day in September, the highest level since before the Iran war. Reuters reports.
Middle Eastern crude now accounts for approximately 54% of India's oil imports, up from 32% in August, while Russian purchases have declined significantly. Iraq and the UAE are among the main beneficiaries of the shift.
