The Trump administration plans to end federal limits on greenhouse gas emissions from U.S. coal- and gas-fired power plants, The New York Times reports, completing its rollback of major climate regulations introduced under the Obama and Biden administrations.
If the move survives expected legal challenges, it could make it significantly harder for future administrations to regulate power plant carbon emissions. EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin is expected to announce the change Monday at a G20 energy ministers’ meeting in Houston.
