Defense Minister Israel Katz said the IDF will stop handling civilian law enforcement in Yehuda and Shomron, with the Israel Police taking responsibility for preventing and investigating violence involving Jewish residents. He said the IDF’s focus should remain on fighting terrorism and defending communities. The announcement followed attacks near Taybeh, after which eight people were arrested and vehicles were seized. Katz said, “Administrative orders are not the solution, but strong and effective police enforcement,” adding that the move would be accompanied by additional police personnel and funding.
