European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen is proposing an EU-wide ban on social media use for children under 13 as Brussels moves toward significantly tougher restrictions aimed at protecting minors online. The proposal would also require technology companies to provide safer accounts for children and introduce additional protections surrounding how young users interact with online platforms.
