*BORO PARK:* A state Public Health Committee voted today to advance the proposed merger between Maimonides Medical Center and NYC Health + Hospitals, despite significant opposition from community leaders and residents. The vote is not final approval, and additional regulatory steps still remain. Community leaders involved in the issue say the fight over the future of Maimonides is far from over.
