Israel has formally shut down the British Consulate in Yerushalayim, with Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar announcing that the consul general and 19 other diplomats will leave the country. Seven diplomats will remain in the building as part of a significantly reduced mission.
The move comes in response to British measures against Israel, including sanctions targeting Jewish communities in Yehuda and Shomron. Britain says the facility will continue operating as the “British Mission, Jerusalem” and will refrain from retaliatory steps while discussions continue.
