Sensitive components from an American F-35 stealth fighter ended up in Chinese possession after a UPS employee missed an email warning that the shipment could not pass through Hong Kong due to U.S. export restrictions, Bloomberg reports.
The shipment included an F-35 cockpit canopy and weapons-bay door coated with radar-absorbing material, potentially exposing sensitive U.S. stealth technology. The parts were originally being shipped for repairs but were mistakenly rerouted through Hong Kong following delays.
