The International Energy Agency warned that global diesel shortages could continue well into 2027 as wars and refinery disruptions reduce supplies of fuel used by trucks, ships, factories, and other industries.
The agency estimates that approximately 1.3 million barrels per day of diesel exports were lost from affected regions during September. Emergency petroleum reserve releases have provided some relief, but the IEA warned that damaged refineries and continuing supply disruptions could keep markets under pressure.
