Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman asked the United States to take the lead in a military campaign against Yemen’s Houthis during a meeting earlier this month with CENTCOM commander Gen. Brad Cooper, Kan News reports. Washington declined to directly lead the operation, particularly because the Houthis are not currently targeting U.S. vessels in the Red Sea.
