The Supreme Court on Monday upheld the Pentagon’s decision to cancel plea deals for Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, the accused 9/11 mastermind, and two other defendants, according to CNN.
The agreements would have spared the three men the death penalty in exchange for guilty pleas. The ruling clears the way for prosecutors to pursue death sentences.
