Israeli security officials are increasingly concerned about Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa’s efforts to rebuild the Syrian military while simultaneously seeking international legitimacy, Walla reports. Officials are particularly monitoring efforts to restore military bases, rebuild ground forces and obtain weapons systems that could eventually restrict the Israeli Air Force’s freedom of operation.
