A meeting between Lebanon’s ambassador to Washington, Nada Hamadeh Mouawad, and Israeli Ambassador Yechiel Leiter at the U.S. State Department on Monday ended without an announced breakthrough, Lebanon’s Al-Akhbar reports. The two-hour meeting focused on implementing the framework agreement between Israel and Lebanon, Lebanon’s demand for an end to IDF operations and an Israeli withdrawal from southern Lebanon, and the possibility of expanding pilot areas. The conclusions were sent to political leaders ahead of the next round of negotiations early next month.
