Norwegian military personnel discovered that Chinese-owned Volvo rental vehicles were automatically recording and storing video during a major military exercise in Oslo last month. The recordings captured soldiers' movements, locations, and security access codes. Norwegian newspaper Dagens Næringsliv reports. The recording feature had not been requested or disclosed to military personnel. Despite the discovery, the Norwegian Armed Forces continued using the vehicles during the exercise due to a lack of alternatives.
