Canadian police arrested a 19-year-old man accused of posting online threats to carry out a shooting at a shul in Ontario. Police say the threats were hate-motivated, and the suspect remains in custody pending a bail hearing. The arrest came just one day after a shooting outside Bnei Yaakov Shul during Yom Kippur tefillos, in which a police officer was seriously wounded and the suspected gunman was shot and arrested. Police have since increased patrols around shuls and Jewish community locations across the region.
