Kan News reports that Saudi Arabia led a coordinated effort involving several Arab countries, including Jordan and the Palestinian Authority, to unite Israel's Arab political parties ahead of Tuesday's election, with the goal of removing Prime Minister Netanyahu from power.
According to Palestinian and Arab sources, Saudi officials believed a united Joint List could help bring about a new Israeli government more favorable to Riyadh, particularly regarding the Palestinian issue and Iran. The revelation comes as the Shin Bet investigates separate allegations of foreign-funded election interference involving Arab countries, including Qatar.
