🇮🇱 ISRAEL WEIGHS FUEL TAX CUT AS GAS PRICES SURGE
- Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich is considering a temporary cut to the excise tax on gasoline as self-service 95-octane is set to rise above 8.25 shekels per liter.
- Officials say the increase is being driven by higher global oil prices and refining costs amid regional tensions. A cut of about 0.30 to 0.50 shekels per liter is under review and could take effect quickly if the finance ministry signs the order.
