Israeli prosecutors filed an indictment Friday against Pinchas Shem Tov Ran, a security coordinator from Itamar and IDF reservist, over the shooting of an 18-year-old Arab woman in the Shomron village of Aqraba. Prosecutors allege he fired at a vehicle that failed to stop, seriously injuring the woman.
Ran, whose brother Major Or Yosef Ran Hy”d was killed fighting Hamas terrorists on October 7, denies the allegations, saying he believed the vehicle was attempting to ram him and another soldier. Ran has served over 600 days in the reserves, and senior IDF officers submitted letters praising his service and character.
