French President Emmanuel Macron is hosting Lebanese President Joseph Aoun and Jordan’s King Abdullah for talks on security in southern Lebanon and what will replace UNIFIL after the UN peacekeeping mission’s mandate ends. The leaders are discussing a future security arrangement along the Israel-Lebanon border and additional international support for the Lebanese military as it assumes greater responsibility in southern Lebanon.
