President Trump has waived key new U.S. sanctions and tariffs targeting Russia, just two days before they were scheduled to take effect under legislation he signed last month, according to Reuters.
The measures would have imposed tariffs of up to 100% on goods from major buyers of Russian oil and gas, along with additional sanctions targeting Moscow. In an executive order issued Friday, Trump said waiving the restrictions was in the national interest of the United States.
