U.S. officials held a previously undisclosed meeting with senior Houthi officials in Oman over the weekend, days after the Iran-backed terrorist group seized a strategic stretch of Yemen’s Red Sea coastline, according to Reuters. The talks were held Sunday at the U.S. Embassy in Muscat. The Houthis told U.S. officials they had no intention of attacking American vessels and remained committed to their 2025 ceasefire with Washington. A Yemeni source said they also pledged not to attack Israeli or commercial ships, except Saudi vessels.
