British Prime Minister Andy Burnham is considering additional support for Saudi Arabia as the kingdom faces escalating Houthi attacks and advances along Yemen’s Red Sea coast, Bloomberg reports. Riyadh has requested diplomatic and military assistance, including help countering the Houthis near the strategic Bab el-Mandeb Strait and protecting Saudi oil infrastructure. Burnham has agreed to deploy British military advisers to Saudi Arabia, though it remains unclear whether he will approve Riyadh’s other requests for assistance.
