OPEC raised its forecast for global oil demand growth in 2027 while lowering its 2026 projection, citing disruptions caused by the Iran war and expectations that countries will replenish depleted petroleum inventories. The revised estimates were released Tuesday in the organization's latest monthly oil market report.
The report also indicated increased production by the OPEC+ group during September. Saudi Arabia reported producing approximately 8.37 million barrels of crude oil daily, more than two million barrels per day above its August output.
