Germany is preparing its healthcare system for a potential NATO war with Russia, including a scenario in which up to 1,000 wounded allied soldiers could arrive each day, according to Bloomberg. Civilian hospitals could need to provide around 15,000 beds.
Hospitals are examining anti-drone barriers, bulletproof glass and larger medical stockpiles, while a Cold War-era nuclear bunker in Ulm could be reactivated. Officials acknowledge Germany’s healthcare system is not yet prepared for such a scenario.
