Qatar is proposing a major investment program to rebuild Lebanon’s electricity sector, including two gas-fired power plants and a 20-year natural gas supply agreement, according to Reuters.
The proposal includes 1,650 megawatts of gas-fired generation, new solar and wind projects, battery storage and electricity imports from Syria. The program would rely on private financing rather than upfront Lebanese government spending and could be implemented within three years if approved by both governments.
