The TSA is considering allowing TSA PreCheck passengers to bring full-size water bottles through security checkpoints at select U.S. airports in the coming months, potentially easing one of the most familiar restrictions on air travelers.
The change would initially be limited to airports equipped with newer CT screening technology capable of distinguishing water from potentially dangerous liquids. The TSA's existing 3.4-ounce limit remains in effect for now, and officials have not identified which airports would participate.
