Qatar said Tuesday that the United States and Iran are both reviewing proposals put forward by mediators to end the war, and that Doha remains hopeful a deal can be reached. Foreign Ministry spokesman Majed Al-Ansari said both sides remain committed to mediation, with Qatar passing messages in real time. The comments came hours after US forces carried out what officials called limited defensive strikes on Iranian targets on Qeshm Island, after the Revolutionary Guards fired on a US aircraft. Iran confirmed that messages are still being exchanged through mediators.
