The Trump administration is considering limited strikes against Iranian military capabilities around the Strait of Hormuz to prevent Tehran from rebuilding radar, air-defense and anti-ship missile systems used to threaten vessels in the strategic waterway, Axios reports. The CENTCOM plan, backed by Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, would involve periodic strikes aimed at keeping shipping lanes open and protecting oil tankers and U.S. forces. The White House had been leaning against the plan to avoid further escalation, but officials said Iran’s missile attacks on U.S. bases in Jordan on Sunday could change President Trump’s decision.
