Belgian labor union ACV Puls has filed a strike notice over Brussels Airlines’ decision to require employees to work flights to Tel Aviv after the route was initially staffed by volunteers.
The union warned that if Brussels Airlines does not reverse the decision, labor action could be taken affecting only flights to and from Israel. The union cited security concerns as well as what it called the “mental and ethical” impact of the flights. Brussels Airlines said safety remains its top priority and that normal crew scheduling is being restored following the successful resumption of Tel Aviv service.
