The Houthis are developing advanced medium-range ballistic missiles using Chinese components, potentially reducing their reliance on Iranian weapons supplies, according to a Conflict Armament Research report obtained by The Wall Street Journal.
The group is working to produce a version of Iran’s Kheibar Shekan missile, capable of striking targets up to 1,930 kilometers away, including Israel and Saudi Arabia. Its maneuverable warhead is designed to evade air defenses. Chinese companies are the largest source of intercepted shipments destined for the Houthis, while Beijing maintains it complies with the UN arms embargo.
