Police arrested seven suspects Monday morning, including the head of a local council in southern Israel, relatives and other senior figures, as a months-long undercover corruption investigation became public. Investigators are examining suspicions involving bribery, the manipulation of government tenders and the use of fictitious employees to divert public funds.
