Israel is moving to ban fiber-optic and SIM-controlled drones from civilian airspace for six months amid growing security threats. Defense Minister Israel Katz is expected to sign the order following Security Cabinet approval. The restrictions target drones capable of evading electronic jamming, amid concerns over Hezbollah attacks, assassination attempts, and terrorist infiltration. Security forces and specially authorized civilian operations will be exempt as Israel develops additional counter-drone defenses.
