South Korean President Lee Jae Myung says Seoul will not deploy troops or military assets to the Middle East if doing so would draw South Korea into the Iran war. “There won’t be deployment that would involve or enter war,” Lee said Friday. However, Seoul is considering expanding its role in safeguarding navigation through the Strait of Hormuz, including protecting South Korean commercial vessels, crude oil shipments and citizens in the region, Reuters reports.
