Poland is threatening major social media companies with financial penalties for failing to remove Russian disinformation and propaganda distributed through their platforms. Polish authorities submitted more than 65,000 reports involving suspected disinformation during the first half of 2026, but say only about 7% of the reported content was removed. Officials are considering enforcement measures against companies that fail to respond.
